The EFTA Statistical Office (ESO) is a division of the EFTA Secretariat, with offices in Luxembourg at the same premises as Eurostat – the statistical office of the EU. ESO operates as a liaison office between the EFTA National Statistical Institutes (NSIs) and Eurostat. Its mission is to assist the EFTA States in the development, production, and dissemination of internationally harmonized and hence comparable official statistics in the framework of the European Statistical System (ESS). ESO provides support to the management and development of the EEA Agreement in the field of statistics, and deploys capacity-building activities in EFTA partner countries outside the ESS.
