This week, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) in cooperation with Statistics Iceland organised a training course on imputation, output validation and analysis with the free and open-source software environment “R”.

Course participants from the statistical offices of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Ukraine followed the statistical training course.

The instructors from Statistics Iceland, Violeta Calian and Arndís Vilhjálmsdóttir introduced the participants to the main R-packages and three important steps of the processing and analysis of data in official statistics: data editing and imputation, output validation, output interpretation and explanation. This course was relevant for people working on the production of official statistics, especially on data processing and analysis.

The course was held in English with a simultaneous Russian interpretation and is part of ESO’s statistical technical cooperation activities, which you can read more about here.
