Final report of the Global Assessment of the National Statistical System of Kyrgyzstan

The EFTA Statistical Office (ESO) in cooperation with UNECE and Eurostat have now published the report of the Global Assessment of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.

This Global Assessment was conducted jointly by ESO, UNECE, and Eurostat at the request of the Kyrgyz Statistical Office. The leading expert was Mr. Hallgrímur Snorrason, who is the former Director General of Statistics Iceland. After the first mission took place in January 2020, the second mission was the first mission to be conducted online due to Covid-19. ESO would like to thank all involved parties for their cooperation during these unforeseen circumstances. We are pleased to have nevertheless successfully completed this Global Assessment.

Global Assessments are stocktaking exercises conducted regularly on request of National Statistical Offices. These assessments evaluate institutional and legal organisation, as well as statistical production according to the European Statistics Code of Practice (ESCoP) and the UN Fundamental Principles of Statistics (FPoS).
