Joint EFTA/Statistics Iceland training course on data validation with R

This week, the EFTA Statistical Office in cooperation with Statistics Iceland organised a training course on data validation with the free and open-source software environment “R”.
Course participants from the statistical offices of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan experienced how R enables reproducible, transparent, and flexible data processing and analysis.
The instructors from Statistics Iceland, Violeta Calian and Arndís Vilhjálmsdóttir, provided a detailed explanation of the main workflows for data processing and analysis with validation, as stages of the Generic Statistical Business Process Model, using R. Hence, R holds the promise of becoming a sustainable software solution in the production of Official Statistics.
Special thanks go to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine for providing facilities and IT support to the interpreters for the duration of the course.
This course is part of ESO’s statistical technical cooperation activities, which you can read more about here.
