The EFTA Secretary-General Henri Gétaz met the Chairperson of ECCK Board Dirk Lukat on 10 October 2022 in Geneva on the occasion of the annual publication of its White Paper. During the meeting, the ECCK Chairperson officially handed over its 2022 White Paper, which includes 96 policy recommendations to the Korean Government.

Both Parties exchanged on recent policy developments in the EFTA States and Korea, bilateral economic relations and on opportunities for future collaboration with the aim to strengthen EFTA–Korea free trade relations.

The European Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ECCK) represents the interests of European businesses in Korea both from the EU, the UK and EFTA States.

Total merchandise trade between the EFTA States and Korea stood at USD 7.8 billion in 2021. The EFTA States exported goods valued at USD 5.1 billion and imported goods worth USD 2.7 billion. Since the signing of the FTA, trade flows between EFTA and Korea have increased threefold.
