EEA Consolidated Versions of the first package of EU Financial Services legislation now available
The EEA Joint Committee adopted a package of 9 Joint Committee Decisions (JCDs) encompassing 31 legal acts providing for the incorporation of the EU Regulations establishing the Financial European Supervisory Authorities, 30 September 2016. EEA Consolidated Versions are now available.
This package included the three main regulations establishing the ESAs (European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), European Banking Authority (EBA) and European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA)) and legislation on credit rating agencies (CRA), on the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), on Short-Selling and Credit Default Swaps, and on Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIMFD).
The relevant JCDs entered into force on 1 October 2016, with the exception of Decision No 204/2016 (Short Selling and CDS), which entered into force on 1 February 2017 and Decision No 206/2016 (EMIR), which will enter into force on 1 July 2017.
Consolidated versions of the EU basic acts, and of certain important delegated or implementing acts, that were incorporated as part of this package, as adjusted for the purposes of the EEA Agreement, are now available on this page.
These documents are provided for information purposes only and have no legal value. Authentic versions of the Joint Committee Decisions, and of the EU basic acts, are published in the Official Journal of the European Union and can be found using EEA-Lex.
