
The EEA EFTA States – Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway – and the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in a special 30th Anniversary Conference. Their four Foreign Ministers and the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of the European Green Deal, Interinstitutional Relations and Foresight will discuss the future of the EEA.
Date: 28 May 2024, 16.00-17.30, followed by a reception
The conference will include a panel discussion with the following speakers:
- Þórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland
- Dominique Hasler, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Sport of Liechtenstein
- Espen Barth Eide, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway
- Hadja Lahbib, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions of Belgium – representing the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU
- Maroš Šefčovič, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of the European Green Deal, Interinstitutional Relations and Foresight
Enrico Letta, the former Prime Minister of Italy, will share his reflections on the Future of the Single Market.
Rosa Balfour, Director of Carnegie Europe, will discuss the EEA and wider European cooperation in a challenging geopolitical context.
The conference moderator will be Maria Tadeo, EU Affairs correspondent.
