EFTA and Serbia Conduct Second Round of Free Trade Negotiations

Building on the good results of the first round in April, negotiating teams from both sides were able to finalize texts in most fields. Apart from trade in industrial and agricultural products, including fish, the Agreement will notably include substantive provisions on intellectual property rights.

The negotiating partners expect the outstanding issues to be resolved soon. A signing of the FTA is envisaged during the second half of 2009.

The EFTA delegation was led by Ms Anniken Mordal, Chief Negotiator from the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry, while Ms Bojana Todorovic, Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, led the Serbian side.
