Highlights from the Subcommittees I-IV meeting and the Joint Subcommittees I-IV meeting on 18 September 2012
The Subcommittees met with the European External Action Service (EEAS) and discussed the state of play of outstanding acts for incorporation into the EEA Agreement, parliamentary procedures for adopted EEA Joint Committee Decisions and a number of draft EEA Joint Committee Decisions currently under discussion with the EU.
At the meeting, the Committee also took note of two EEA EFTA Comments, one on the proposal for and amendment to the Directive on Recognition of Professional Qualifications, and one on the proposal for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs programme (COSME) 2014-2020.
In the internal meeting, delegates continued to discuss EEA EFTA participation in EU bodies, the regulations establishing the European Financial Supervisory Authorities, the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive as well as the Regulation on credit rating agencies. The state of play of the EEA EFTA participation in the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework (2014-2020) was also presented.
The next meetings of Subcommittees I-IV and Joint Subcommittees I-IV are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 16 October 2012 in Brussels.
