The second Meeting of the Joint EFTA-Ukraine Committee was held in Geneva on November 16. At the meeting, the EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) and Ukraine discussed their current co-operation under the Declaration and explored ways to deepen and extend it.

The Committee, while expressing satisfaction with the current co-operation, identified certain areas where further collaboration can be envisaged. This includes areas such as the exchange of statistical information, the enforcement of intellectual property rights, sanitary and phytosanitary measures and technical barriers to trade.

The Committee agreed to aim at opening free trade negotiations once the negotiations on Ukraine’s WTO accession have been completed.
