Meeting of the European Statistical System Committee

EFTA Statistical Office attended the 49th meeting of the European Statistical System Committee #ESSC in Luxembourg from 18th to 19th of May 2022.

The ESSC, chaired by the European Commission (Eurostat), is composed of representatives of the EU Member States' National Statistical Institutes (NSI) and EFTA countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, as well as the EFTA Statistical Office.

The ESSC Meeting is held three times a year to provide guidance to the European Statistical System (ESS) for developing, producing and disseminating European statistics and the respective legal basis.

Amongst other things, the ESSC was invited to discuss different subjects including a new NACE structure, and a proposal for updating the regulation on European environmental accounts, which responds to the data needs of the European Green Deal.
