EFTA countries have the highest and lowest inflation in the EEA

A recent Eurostat publication showed that the annual inflation in Iceland of 6.7% for the period February 2011 to February 2012 was the highest amongst the countries in the European Economic Area (EEA).

Switzerland had the lowest inflation rate in Europe at -1.2% and was also the only country that had negative inflation for this period. Norway had the second lowest inflation with 1.0%. The inflation for the EU27 was 3.0% and for the euro area 2.7%.
