On 19 September, the EEA Joint Committee adopted 41 decisions, incorporating 67 legal acts into the EEA Agreement.
Ambassador Stefán Haukur Jóhannesson, the newly appointed Head of Mission of Iceland to the EU, opened the meeting as Chair of the EFTA Standing Committee and EEA Joint Committee.
“This forum plays an integral role in our collaboration, and I look forward to continuing our crucial work in strengthening EEA cooperation,” the Ambassador emphasised.
He pointed to the action-packed semester ahead, in which several meetings and events would take place under the Icelandic Chair, including the EEA Council on 20 November.
Among the 67 legal acts incorporated into the EEA Agreement, 15 were in the field of financial services, three in transport and two in statistics.
The next EEA Joint Committee meeting will be held at EFTA House on 24 October.
