IT sector review Namibia

The Sector Review team from the EFTA Statistical Office, Statistics Norway and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, along with their colleagues from the Namibian Statistics Agency.

Within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement between the EFTA and the Southern African Customs Union (SACU), the EFTA Statistical Office organised an IT sector review with the Namibia Statistics Agency. The expert panel consisted of experts from EFTA Statistical Office, Statistics Norway and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia. The sector review consisted of one mission at the Namibia Statistics Agency in Windhoek, Namibia over four days from 1 to 4 August 2022. The sector review covered topics including IT security, hardware and software infrastructure, data management, collection and processing, and dissemination of official statistics with a focus on production of trade statistics.

Following the mission, the experts from EFTA, Statistics Norway and the Statistical Office of Serbia will draft a sector review report which will be published on the EFTA website in autumn 2022.
