The EFTA summer Ministerial meeting that will take in Iceland was prominent on the agenda of the EFTA Council which met for the third time this year on 8 May. The Council also reviewed ongoing free trade relations with several countries outside the European Union.

The EFTA Summer Ministerial meeting will be held on 23 June 2014 in the Westman Islands, Iceland and will be chaired by Icelandic Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson. In addition to their own discussions, the EFTA Ministers will meet with the Parliamentary Committee, made up of members of Parliament, and the Consultative Committee, comprised of representatives of the social partners.

The next Council meeting will take place on 12 June 2014.
