47th Annual Report of the European Free Trade Association, 2007. 2007 was an eventful year for EFTA. Important milestones were reached both in the European Economic Area and in free trade relations, the two principal fields of activity of our organization. Three of the highlights of the year were the finalisation of the negotiations on a free trade agreement with Canada, the enlargement of the EEA Agreement to Bulgaria and Romania, and the inclusion of the EEA EFTA States in the new EU programmes for the period 2007-2013.
46th Annual Report of the European Free Trade Association, 2006. During the past year EFTA has proved its worth as an indispensable organisation for implementing trade policy priorities of the Member States. In 2006, EFTA conducted free trade negotiations with a range of partner countries and continued to develop its close relations with the European Union through the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement.
45th Annual Report of the European Free Trade Association, 2005. The year 2005 was successful for our organisation in its two main fields of activity: relations with the European Union and free trade and cooperation policy. EFTA's free trade policy has reached a symbolic turning point: EFTA has now the world's largest network of free trade partners. It signed a free trade agreement with the Republic of Korea, the world's seventh largest economy, and concluded negotiations with the five countries of the Southern African Customs Union, SACU. This in itself broke new ground for EFTA, as one of SACU's members is a least developed country.
44th Annual Report of the European Free Trade Association, 2004. The year 2004 was a year of positive developments in all the areas of activity of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). The EFTA Convention, which governs trade relations between the EFTA States, continued to provide a modern platform for the relations between the EFTA States and for managing co-operation with current and potential partner countries.
