EFTA States and Israel sign revised bilateral agricultural agreements

Ministers from Member States of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – Iceland, Norway and Switzerland – and from Israel, signed revised bilateral agricultural agreements on 22 November 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland. Through the signing, both sides commit to further strengthening their trade relations in the field of agriculture.

EFTA-Israel Joint Committee adopts two decisions

The ninth meeting of the Joint Committee established under the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the EFTA States and Israel took place on 21 November 2018 in Geneva. Ambassador Markus Schlagenhof, Head of World Trade at Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, acted as the EFTA Spokesperson, while the Israeli delegation was led by Mr Daniel Kolbar, Director of Bilateral Trade Agreements at Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry.

Joint EFTA-Israel Committee Agrees to Make Free Trade Agreement More Effective

In its 6th meeting since the free trade agreement between the two sides entered into force in 1993, the Joint EFTA-Israel Committee met to discuss various aspects of the agreement. It agreed on decisions regarding customs and origin matters and balance of payments and prepared the ground for updating the agreement in the fields of state aid and intellectual property.
