Agenda
Subcommittees I-IV assist the EFTA Standing Committee and the EEA Joint Committee in preparing for the integration into the EEA Agreement of legislation relating to all aspects of the Internal Market:
- Subcommittee I - Free Movement of Goods
- Subcommittee II - Free Movement of Capital and Services
- Subcommittee III - Free Movement of Persons
- Subcommittee IV - Flanking and Horizontal Policies
The Subcommittees I-IV meet in two configurations: internal meetings with representatives from the three EEA EFTA States' foreign ministries or the Prime Minister’s Office, and joint meetings with representatives from the EEA EFTA States and the European Commission (Secretariat-General). Switzerland participate as observer in the internal meetings.
In practice, the Subcommittees I-IV nowadays functions as one committee, with an internal and joint meeting that deal with all matters mentioned above.
Under the (internal) subcommittees there are several working groups which consist of experts in different fields from the national administrations of the EEA EFTA States. They are responsible for processing all EU legislation to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.
