The 51st meeting of the EEA Council takes place on 20 May 2019 in Brussels. The EEA Council meets twice a year at ministerial level and provides political impetus for the development of the EEA Agreement. The EEA Council meeting will be chaired by Mr Stefan-Radu Oprea, Minister for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship of Romania, representing the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and co-chaired by Ms Aurelia Frick, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liechtenstein, representing the EEA EFTA States. She will be accompanied by Ms Ine Eriksen Søreide, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, and Mr Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland. The meeting is also attended by Members of the Council of the European Union and representatives of the European Commission and the European External Action Service.
