    The EEA EFTA States have submitted comments to the European Parliament on the Commission’s proposal for an EU Directive on the comparability of fees related to payment accounts, payment account switching and access to payment accounts with basic features.

    At its meeting on 4 October, the EEA Joint Committee agreed to adopt ad referendum with the date of 8 October 2013, 45 legal acts including acts intended to secure the quality and safety of organs for transplantation, and to promote clean and energy-efficient road vehicles, as well as three adopting international accounting standards.

    Representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway met with the European External Action Service (EEAS) on 2 July 2013 when the Joint Subcommittees I-IV met to discuss matters related to the EEA Agreement, including the implementation of the EU Single Market Act I and II.
