EFTA Standing Committee adopts new procedures for EU acts to become a part of the EEA Agreement
On 8 May 2014, the EFTA Standing Committee adopted a Decision that aims to speed up the incorporation of EU acts into the EEA Agreement. The new procedures will be applied as of 15 September this year.
Changes to the EU Emissions Trading System extended to the EEA EFTA States
On 30 April 2014, the EEA EFTA States and the European Union adopted, by written procedure, a Joint Committee Decision incorporating a Regulation on the scope of the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) for aviation until 2020.

On 10 April 2014, the EEA EFTA States and the European Union adopted three Joint Committee Decisions (JCDs) incorporating three legal acts related to the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) into the EEA Agreement.

At its meeting on 4 April 2014, the EEA Joint Committee agreed to adopt ad referendum with the date of 8 April 2014, 53 legal acts including a new regulation of the European Commission on the selection of a symbol for identifying medicinal products for human use that are subject to additional monitoring.
