EEA EFTA Comment on the revision of EU Regulations on vehicle safety
On 27 October Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway submitted a joint EEA EFTA Comment on the possible review of the General Safety Regulation and the Pedestrian Safety Regulation.
New College at EFTA Surveillance Authority
On 25 October, the EEA EFTA States appointed a new College of the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA). Its members will take up their work on 1 January 2018 under the presidency of Ms Bente Angell-Hansen (Norway).
EEA Joint Committee incorporates directives on package travel and copyright management into the EEA Agreement
The EEA Joint Committee adopted 41 decisions incorporating 90 legal acts into the EEA Agreement during its meeting on 22 September 2017. The acts included directives on copyright management and package travel.
EEA EFTA Comment on ePrivacy
On 22 September Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway submitted a joint EEA EFTA Comment on the European Commission’s proposal for a regulation concerning the respect for private life and the protection of personal data in electronic communications(COM(2017) 10 final).
EEA EFTA Comment on the proposed European Solidarity Corps
On 18 September 2017 Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway submitted a joint comment on a proposal for a new founding regulation laying down the legal framework of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC).
EFTA hosts biannual seminar on the EEA
On 12 September 2017, 135 participants from both the public and private sectors met at the EFTA Secretariat in Brussels for an introductory seminar on the European Economic Area (EEA). Representatives of the EFTA Secretariat, European External Action Service, EFTA Surveillance Authority and EFTA Court gave presentations on the day-to-day operation and management of the EEA Agreement. Topics discussed included the history behind the Agreement, the legal framework, recent developments in the EEA and potential future challenges.
EEA EFTA Comment on European Accessibility Act Submitted to the EU
On 13 July, the EEA EFTA States (Iceland Norway and Liechtenstein) submitted a common Comment on the European Accessibility Act to the EU side

The EFTA Standing Committee and the EEA Joint Committee met in Brussels on 5 and 7 July 2017 respectively.
EEA Joint Committee adopts "Roam like at Home" Regulation
The Standing Committee of the EFTA States and the EEA Joint Committee met in Brussels on 12 and 13 June 2017 respectively. In the Joint Committee meeting, 14 decisions were adopted incorporating 30 legal acts into the EEA Agreement.
EEA Consolidated Versions of the first package of EU Financial Services legislation now available
The EEA Joint Committee adopted a package of 9 Joint Committee Decisions (JCDs) encompassing 31 legal acts providing for the incorporation of the EU Regulations establishing the Financial European Supervisory Authorities, 30 September 2016. EEA Consolidated Versions are now available.
