The EFTA Council prepares for the Ministerial meeting later this autumn

The EFTA Council met under the Swiss Chair on 22 September 2020 in Geneva. The Council members received an update on EU-EFTA cooperation and took note of the adoption by the European Council of the financial framework for 2021–2027 and the COVID-19 recovery plan. They also took note of the various initiatives to coordinate management of borders and the search for a vaccine.

EFTA Secretary-General meets with Liechtenstein Ministers to discuss the impact of COVID-19 and Liechtenstein's 25-year membership in the EEA

On Tuesday 2 June, Secretary-General Henri Gétaz and Deputy Secretary-General Pascal Schafhauser met with Katrin Eggenberger, Liechtenstein Minister of Foreign Affairs in Vaduz. The meeting marked the first official visit in Liechtenstein since the outbreak of the coronavirus. Prior to the meeting with Eggenberger, the EFTA representatives paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Adrian Hasler.
