Gabriel Gamez and Kurt Wass from the EFTA Statistical Office (ESO) visited Statistics Norway from 3 to 5 March. The purpose of the visit was to obtain an update on the status of Norway's EEA collaboration and to discuss challenges and potential difficulties regarding, among others, data delivery, dissemination, new legal acts and projects.
Meetings were held with all units involved in the production of statistics and with other key staff in the fields of communication, training, data transmission and legislation. ESO's representatives also contributed as presenters at a seminar organised by the International Secretariat of Statistics Norway on 4 March. The seminar was well received and attended by staff of Statistics Norway and producers of official statistics from other government units.
The main conclusion drawn from the meetings and the assessments presented at the seminar was that Statistics Norway is highly integrated in the European Statistical System (ESS), and fulfils almost all of its commitments contained in the comprehensive EEA collaboration.
