Published 27-05-2016
The European Statistical System (ESS) is a partnership among Eurostat, the national statistical institutes and other national authorities providing high-quality, official statistics for Europe. The EFTA States are, together with the EU Member States, part of this "statistical production factory" which employs around 50 000 people in 32 different countries.

The 2015 edition of the ESS Report has been released. Among others topics, the report outlines the role of indicators in European policy-making, and highlights challenges related to the measurement of international migration. It further explains how ESS functions in order to ensure that ESS members comply with the European Statistics Code of Practice, including an article of an evaluation session in Norway.
