
The EFTA Standing Committee and EEA Joint Committee met on 29 and 30 April 2010 respectively. In the Standing Committee, the Liechtenstein Chair confirmed that the Services Directive will enter into force in the EEA EFTA States on 1 May 2010.
The EEA EFTA States furthermore approved the meeting schedule for the Standing Committee and its subcommittees for the second half of 2010. The Liechtenstein delegate informed the delegations about a report issued in Liechtenstein on the occasion of fifteen years of EEA membership. The Secretary-General gave a briefing on third country relations.
The Joint Committee adopted 21 decisions incorporating 43 legal acts. The Joint Committee also approved the EEA Joint Committee Progress Report to the EEA Council which will be held in Brussels on 10 May.
