The EFTA Standing Committee and EEA Joint Committee met in Brussels on 26 October. Norway was Chair for both of the Standing Committee and on behalf of the EEA EFTA States of the Joint Committee.
The Norwegian delegation gave short briefings on the Norwegian White Paper on Norway’s relations with the EU in both the Standing and Joint Committee meetings. Outstanding legal acts in the EEA Agreement were also discussed in both meetings.
In the Joint Committee meeting, 14 decisions were adopted incorporating 46 legal acts into the EEA Agreement. Two of these decisions, on Protection of the Ozone Layer and the new EU Ecolabel system, are described in more detail in a separate news item on this website.
The Joint Committee was also provided with a presentation of the Single Market Act II by the European Commission.
