EFTA's Parliamentary Committee adopts resolution on Schengen

The EFTA Parliamentary Committee met on 28 June in Gstaad in the margins of the EFTA Ministerial meeting.

The Committee discussed free movement of persons, developments with regards to EFTA participation in EU agencies and bureaus and Schengen. The Committee adopted a resolution on the latter subject.

The Committee met with the EFTA Ministers to discuss the developments on EFTAs third country relations and cooperation with the EU. 

The Committee also met with the social partners in the EFTA Consultative Committee to discuss consequences of free movement of workers for the labour market. A report from the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) on Swiss experiences with 10 years of the bilateral agreement on free movement of workers was presented by Deputy Head of the Unit for Labour Market & Social Policy Analyses, Mr Bernhard Weber.
