The EFTA Council met under the Swiss Chairmanship in a hybrid setup on 16 June 2020, with ambassadors physically present and other participants joining through videoconference. During the meeting delegates discussed the recent videoconferences with Vietnam, both at Heads and experts level, held on 15 May, as well as the stock taking meeting between Heads of delegations from EFTA and Mercosur convened on 10 June 2020.

Delegates furthermore took stock of the discussions held during the informal exchange among EFTA Ministers chaired by Guy Parmelin, Swiss Federal Councillor, and the informal discussion between EFTA Ministers and the EFTA Parliamentary and Consultative Committees, both held via videoconference on Monday 8 June.

Finally, Council delegates also discussed relations between the EFTA States and the UK, as well as the state of play in EU–UK negotiations.

Further information on the Council Chairmanship can be found on the EFTA website.

The Council Conclusions are available after the Council meetings on the EFTA Register.
