On 16 April the EFTA Council met for its third meeting of 2010, under the Icelandic chairmanship. The agenda included a review of relations with non-EU countries and a review of preparations for the upcoming Ministerial meeting in Reykjavik on June 24.
The Chair updated the Council on the latest plans for the Ministerial meeting to be held in Reykjavik on 24 June. A special programme will be arranged to commemorate EFTA’s 50th anniversary. The EFTA Convention entered into force on 3 May 1960. It is also foreseen that EFTA and Peru will sign a free trade agreement at this occasion.
The next Council meeting will take place on 17 May 2010.
