The Standing Committee approved the practical merger of Subcommittee I and Subcommittees II-III-IV under the same Chair, who will be appointed in the coming weeks. The Icelandic delegate informed the Committee on the status of its application for EU membership.
The Joint Committee adopted 15 Decisions incorporating 18 legal acts, including the regulation on Roaming which extends the scope of the EU Roaming Regulation to include data roaming and reduces charges for texting (sms) and voice services. The Committee also approved the progress Report by the EEA Joint Committee to the 32nd meeting of the EEA Council and the Icelandic delegate informed the Committee on the progress of the long-standing issue of the Food Law Package with the positive news that the bill had now been reintroduced to parliament and had passed its first reading
