The Icelandic delegate introduced the final report outlining developments during their Chairmanship. The Icelandic delegate also informed that the bill on the Food Law Package had been approved by the government and that it would be introduced in the Parliament shortly. Finally, the Standing Committee agreed to ask Subcommittee V to assess the existing rules and procedures for public access to EEA/EFTA documents, with special emphasis on the classification of documents and report back to the Standing Committee by 15 December 2009.
With the EEA EFTA States chairing the Joint Committee for the second half of 2009, the Committee adopted 17 Decisions incorporating 23 legal acts. Among these Decisions were EEA EFTA State participation in Erasmus Mundus 2009-2013 action programme and in the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Inclusion – 2010.
