The EFTA Standing Committee met on 4 June to finalize preparations for the meeting of the EEA Joint Committee on 6 June 2008.
In the Standing Committee on 4 June, the EFTA Secretariat presented its report “Overview of the main rights and obligations of the EEA EFTA States and their nationals in regulatory agencies in which they participate through the EEA Agreement” and a Study on “Certification and Marks in Europe”.
The Committee underlined that the study was an important contribution to ensuring the free movement of safe products throughout the EEA. It further expressed its appreciation for the workshop to be organized by the Secretariat on 11 June where the certification and marks situation in Europe will be further discussed and developed.
The EEA Joint Committee in its meeting on 6 June adopted 18 Decisions incorporating 23 new EU acts into the EEA Agreement.
