The aim of the seminar was to provide more than a hundred participants with a thorough overview of the EEA, including its structure and procedures. The seminar also focused on current issues that are driving the future development of the EEA and the EU, namely treaty reform and EU environmental policy.

The seminar featured speakers from the various EFTA institutions as well as the European Parliament and the European Policy Centre.
