EFTA Ministers and Parliamentarians meet with Deputy US Trade Represenative

On 17 November 2014, Mr Michael Punke, Deputy US Trade Representative and US Ambassador to the World Trade Organization, took part in a joint session between the EFTA Parliamentary Committee and the EFTA Ministers. Discussions touched upon the status of negotiations between the US and the EU on a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

Mr Punke was introduced by Mr Svein Roald Hansen, Chair of the EFTA Parliamentary Committee, who underlined the importance of strengthening the parliamentary dimension of the trade dialogue between EFTA and the US.

The meeting provided an opportunity to raise questions and exchange views on the ongoing negotiations between the US and the EU and focused on the relevance of these negotiations for the economies of the EFTA States.
