The biannual introductory seminar on the EEA will take place on Tuesday 12 September 2017 at the EFTA Secretariat in Brussels.
The seminar is intended to provide professionals, both inside and outside the European Union, with a thorough understanding of the Agreement on the European Economic Area and how it integrates Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway into the EU’s Internal Market.
Presentations on the structure, purpose and functioning of EFTA and the EEA Agreement will be given by the EFTA Secretariat, along with a briefing on how EU law becomes EEA law. Representatives from the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) and the EFTA Court will also take part in the seminar to highlight how EEA law is interpreted and enforced. Additionally, the Financial Mechanism Office will inform participants about the scope and aim of the EEA and Norway Grants.
In addition to information about the day-to-day operation and management of the EEA Agreement, recent developments and current challenges in the EU Internal Market will also be touched upon.
The EEA seminar is held twice a year. Recent seminars were fully booked by EU officials, academics and professionals, so we encourage you to register at your earliest convenience.
