Norwegian Ambassador presents credentials to Secretary-General

Ambassador Harald Neple met with Secretary-General Kristinn F. Árnason on 23 September in Geneva to present his credentials as Norway‘s representative to EFTA.

Ambassador Neple took up his duties as Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the WTO and EFTA in Geneva on 2 September 2013, succeeding Ms Elin Østebø Johansen. From 2011 he served as Chief Negotiator for Rio Plus 20 and as Special Envoy for Minorities, and from 2006 to 2011 he was Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Norway to the OECD and UNESCO. During his long career in the Norwegian Foreign Service, Ambassador Neple has held several senior positions, including Director-General for Trade Policy, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs and Deputy Director-General for WTO and OECD issues. Ambassador Neple has also been stationed in Tokyo, London and Bangkok.
